Farewell to The L-Word

The L Word is coming to an end. Season six will be the final season of the Showtime lesbian drama series. It will shorter than the first five seasons and will have only eight episodes.

Jennifer Beals, Leisha Hailey, Laurel Holloman, Mia Kirshner, Katheringe Moennig and Pam Grier have starred in all 70 episodes.

Series creator and executive producer Ilene Chaiken tells Reuters, "This is by no means the end of The L Word. The brand and the social network community, OurChart.com, will continue to live and be a destination for lesbians everywhere and a lasting tribute to what 'The L Word' has accomplished."

We haven't heard of any new lesbian shows in the works yet, so fans will have to head over to OurChart.com to get their fix.
