Ellen Grills Caitlyn Jenner Over Dating Plans
Posted on September 7, 2015
Caitlyn Jenner was a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and talked about a number of issues. Ellen didn't pull any punches, she asked very personal questions. The talk turned to the fact that Caitlyn is a Republican. She confirmed that she still is one, and joked that it was not a bad thing.
Ellen agreed, but noted that many Republican politicians are against gay marriage. Caitlyn said that she also opposed gay marriage for many years, but has changed her views over time. She explained. "I have to admit that I remember 15 years ago, 20 years ago, whenever it was that the whole gay marriage issue came up, at first, I was not for it. I mean, I thought, 'I'm a traditionalist...But as time goes on, like a lot of people on this issue, I’ve really changed thinking here to: 'I don't ever want to stand in front of anybody's happiness' … If that word 'marriage' is really, really that important to you, I can go with it."
Ellen said that it sounds like she still isn't really for gay marriage and has reservations. Ellen said that it was about giving gays equal rights as straight people. Caitlyn was unfazed saying that she has no problem with it. Then Ellen really went for it and wanted to know whether Caitlyn was going to date women or men. Caitlyn wouldn't answer the question and said that she's not in a place to even think about dating.
She said, "For me, I'm at such a different place in life. I already have too many children. Just kidding. Just kidding! I have 10 children. I've got my eighth grandchild in the oven with Kimberly. I have all these wonderful kids. I've kind of passed that stage in my life, but yes, would I like to find a partner in life to share my life with? Yeah. I’m sure I will at some point." She explained that she's really busy getting used to her new life. She said, "As time goes on I’ll deal with that subject."
It was an interesting interview in several parts. Caitlyn also revealed that she still plays golf at the country club on the men's course, not the women's. Take a look:
