Duck Dynasty Ratings Fall 28% in Season 5 Premiere
Posted on January 16, 2014
Ducky Dynasty opened with ratings down 28% from last season. Deadline.com reports that the show was down 33% in the 18-49 demographic.
A&E's reality television show still opened with 8.5 million viewers for the season 5 premiere, but this was considerably less than the season 4 premiere, which was watched by 11.8 million. The show has lost over 3 million viewers between the season four and season five premieres, but 8.5 million is still a staggering amount of viewers for a show about bearded duck hunters.
The ratings drop follows Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson's comments that gays are sinners and "won't inherit the kingdom of God." Robertson was suspended from the show, but his suspension was lifted about a week later.
