DC's Legends of Tomorrow Trailer Debuts

The CW just blew the lid off this week's upfronts with the trailer for DC Legends Of Tomorrow which is slated to appear in 2016. Time traveler Rip Hunter goes back in time to help save the planet and time itself from an immortal villain who is unstoppable.

He puts together a group of heroes and villains who must band together to stop the threat. The trailer shows the Arrow/Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), the Flash/Barry Gordon (Grant Gustin), White Canary (an apparently resurrected Sara Lance played by Caity Lotz), Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh), Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Mick Rory/Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée).

Arthur Darvill, who played the Eleventh Doctor's companion Rory Williams on Dr. Who is the time traveling rogue Rip Hunter who assures the skeptical group that those of them that actually live through the ordeal become legends. When he first appeared with his scruffy beard and coat, we thought for a minute it was Constantine.

It's unclear how much time the Arrow and the Flash will spend on this show, but it seems like some of the actors are going to be extremely busy next year. Most likely they will be recurring with the rest of the cast taking on the majority of the story lines.

White Canary (who clearly has had a turn in the Lazarus Pit) now has a cool white leather catsuit. Hawkgirl is a new character who is "a girl with wings and a past lives complex.".And Victor Garber is the older, more calm half of the Firestorm team. Having Victor join the show is such a huge plus. We're really happy he's in the mix. He and Arthur Darvill could carry a show all on their own. This one is going to be one of the most anticipated show to come out of this week's upfronts.
