Ice Cream Company Makes Popsicles Resembling Daniel Craig
Posted on June 1, 2009
James Bond star Daniel Craig's chiseled figure has been made into a popsicle by Del Monte Superfruit Smoothies. The Daily Mail reports that the Daniel Craig popsicles were made after the ice cream manufacturer polled 1,000 women to see which celebrity they would most like to see made into a popsicle. The winner was James Bond actor Daniel Craig.
The Del Monte Superfruit Smoothies team told the Daily Mail they "worked tirelessly" to make the popsicles. They were trying to recreate the look of Craig where he emerges from the sea in Casino Royale. As you can see here, the purple popsicles do resemble the actor. The 007 frozen treats were distributed during National Ice Cream Week.
Jude Law came in second in the survey and Hugh Grant came in third but no frozen smoothies will be made resembling them. An entry on Morningstar.com says Del Monte Foods is not affiliated with the "Del Monte Superfruit Smoothies Daniel Craig Ice Lolly" promotion or product. No one seems to have asked Daniel Craig what he thinks about this idea.
Del Monte Superfruit Smoothies spokesman Matt O'Conner is quoted by the L.A. Times as saying, "Daniel Craig ... is officially immortalized as super smooth and licensed to chill." Yes, it's all ridiculous. The U.S. Del Monte Foods company is not involved with the promotion.
