Bryan Cranston and Stephen Colbert Think Deep Thoughts

Posted on November 6, 2015

Bryan Cranston joined Stephen Colbert for a round of stargazing and thinking deep thoughts. We love this segment which Colbert calls "Big Questions With Even Bigger Stars." So far Stephen has lain on the grass, looked at stars and pondered deep questions with Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks. But the one with Bryan Cranston may be the best so far.

Cranston is just such a brilliant actor and he's actually really good at sketch comedy too. The questions, as promised, are deep. Colbert asks Cranston, "Do you believe in parallel universes?" "No," replies Cranston. "And somewhere, I just said yes," he adds. He then discovers a cluster of stars that looks just like Ryan Seacrest.

Cranston then asks, "Stephen, what if God's a woman?" Stephen fires back with a funny one-liner, "If God's a woman, she definitely didn't write the Bible." The two discuss the existence of good and evil and we discover that Cranston is worried he might not get into Heaven, "Not after what I did in Tampa," he cryptically mutters. He is shooting a movie in Tampa about a drug lord called The Infiltrator, so perhaps that's what he meant. Or, perhaps not.

They also ponder the saddest thing in the world and Tampa comes up again. It's very funny. Cranston stars in the film Trumbo which is in theaters now. Take a look:
