CNN to End Piers Morgan Live

CNN plans to end Piers Morgan's prime-time talk show, Piers Morgan Live. The British anchor stepped in for Larry King three years ago. The ratings for the show have not been good. Politico reports that the series hit new lows in recent weeks and gets only 1/3 as many viewers as Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and just 1/6 as many as Megyn Kelly on Fox News.
The New York Times broke the news about the end of the show. The Times interviewed Morgan who acknowledged the show failed to fine an audience. Morgan told the Times, "Look, I am a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarizing, and there is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it. That's run its course and Jeff and I have been talking for some time about different ways of using me."
There is no word on what might replace Piers Morgan Live. The Daily Beast reports that Larry King is willing to return. The Washington Post suggests ten ways CNN could replace Morgan including a hologram of Wolf Blitzer or Jay Leno. Jay Leno would be a great idea.
