Chris Pratt Does the Longest SNL Promo Ever

Posted on September 27, 2014

Chris Pratt is hosting Saturday Night Live tonight with Ariana Grande as the musical guest. Chris and Kate McKinnon teamed up for a series of promos that bode very well for the show.

We've never seen an SNL promo run for nearly seven minutes. From Kate demanding to see his chiseled abs to asking him to open pickle jar after pickle jar, the bits never get old. In fact, we bet they just put the whole reel up and didn't edit it at all. Chris has been having an incredible year. Guardians of the Galaxy is a monster hit and he stars in Jurassic World which will hit theaters in 2015. He's very funny in interviews, and stars on Parks and Recreation so we think he should do just fine with sketch comedy.

Chris has been tweeting about the show tonight. He has said that hosting SNL is a dream come true and he's going to give it everything he's got. Today he's been listening to Ariana Grande's rehearsals and apparently they are going well. He tweeted, "In the dressing room at #SNL hearing @ArianaGrande rehearse. Man. That girl can sing!!!! Like REALLY sing. You probably already knew that."

He did say he won't be live-tweeting his performance, though. He said, "In lieu of live tweeting my #SNL performance TONIGHT I will be live performing it. Sorry for any inconvenience."

Tonight kicks off the 40th anniversary of Saturday Night Live, so it's a big night for the cast. The show airs on NBC at 11:30 p.m.Eastern time/10:30 p.m. Central time.
