Samuel L. Jackson and John Cusack are terrorized by cell phone zombies in the first trailer for Cell, which is based on the bestselling novel by Stephen King. Cusack plays Clay Riddell luckily just hung up his phone when a mysterious Pulse hits. Riddell is at the Boston airport and has a first hand view of the destruction when a strange signal hits every one using their mobile phone all over the world. The signal turns people into violent killers.

Riddell is determined to get to his young son and estranged wife, who are upstate. He meets a train driver named Tom McCourt (Samuel L. Jackson) who joins forces with Riddell against the cell zombies who they call Phoners. Civilization is rapidly collapsing as the Phoners only care about killing the Normals. The Phoners also have psychic abilities, which are amplified when they are in groups.

King co-wrote the screenplay with Adam Alleca. The film also stars Isabelle Fuhrman, Stacy Keach, Lloyd Kaufman, owen Teague and Catherine Dyer. Tod Williams (Paranormal Activity 2) directed the film.

Cusak and King must get along quite well -- this is the third Stephen King film he's starred in, after Stand by Me and 1408, which also co-starred Samuel L. Jackson. Cellphone killer zombies. That works. Take a look:
