Bradley Cooper and Paul Rudd Star in Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp Trailer

Posted on July 2, 2015

Netflix has released the full trailer for its upcoming 8-episode event series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp and it's hilarious. The original cult movie, Wet Hot American Summer, came out in 2001. Since then, almost every cast member has gone onto stardom.

Somehow Netflix persuaded the entire original cast to return: Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, Christopher Meloni, Molly Shannon, David Hyde Pierce, Janeane Garofalo, Ken Marino, Michael Ian Black, Zak Orth, Joe Lo Truglio, Judah Friedlander, Marguerite Moreau and Michael Showalter are all reprising their roles.

Joining the cast are Jason Schwartzman, John Hamm, John Slattery, Chris Pine, Michael Cera, Lake Bell and Kristen Wiig.

The original film was set in 1981 and was a comedy about the hijinks at Camp Firewood in Maine. The Netflix series is actually a prequel, which just makes it all the funnier. The original screenwriters, Michael Showalter and David Wain, wrote the scripts and Wain is returning to direct.

The trailer gives us a scene of Bradley Cooper and Amy Poehler welcoming campers to the theater part of camp, Paul Rudd's counselor being wildly inappropriate, Kristen Wiig's rowing counselor being inappropriately flirty with the campers and Bradley Cooper about to violate the no fraternization policy with one of the campers.

The entire series will be available on Netflix beginning July 31, 2015. Take a look:
