Beauty and the Beast Tops Box Office With $170 Million Opening

Beauty and the Beast dominated the box office this weekend with a $170 million opening. The film made $40,380 per theater with its huge opening. The $170 million set a record for March. The film stars Emma Watson and Dan Stevens.
Beauty and the Beast was followed by Kong: Skull Island which added $28.8 million during its second weekend in theaters to bring its total to $110 million. Kong: Skull Island was followed by Logan which made $17.5 million.
Logan was followed by Get Out which continues to perform well. It made $13.2 million to bring its total gross to $133 after four weekend in theaters. The horror film could be on its way to attaining cult status. Get Out was followed by The Shack and The Lego Batman Movie.
The Belko Experiment opened in 7th place and made $4,051 in 1.341 theaters. The horror film follows a bizarre, violent experiment conducted on unwitting employees in a modern high-rise office building.
