Avril Lavigne's Fly Single Benefits the Special Olympics
Posted on May 18, 2015
Avril Lavigne has released a new single and music video called "Fly." Sales of the single on iTunes will benefit the Special Olympics. The single was released 100 days before the start of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games, which will take place in Los Angeles.
The upbeat song was written by Avril, her husband Chad Kroeger and David Hodges. It was produced by Avril and Chris Baseford. Avril appears to have wings on the artwork for the single. She's wearing a dress and holding her guitar.
Avril says in a statement, "This song means a lot to me personally. It is inspired by the many young people I've met throughout my work with my Foundation. They pursue their dreams no matter what obstacles they face."
Avril launched a campaign last September, through her charity, the Avril Lavigne Foundation, to support 30 Special Olympics athletes competing in the 2015 2015 Special Olympics World Games. Special Olympics athletes are also featured in the inspirational music video for "Fly." Take a look:
