Anna Kendrick to Voice Troll Princess in DreamWorks' Trolls Film

DreamWorks Animation has announced that Anna Kendrick will voice Poppy, a Troll princess, in the upcoming film, Trolls. Trolls is an animated musical based on the dolls created by woodcutter Thomas Dam in 1959. The film promises to reveal the origins of the Trolls' wild and colorful hair. Anna is the only voice actor named to the film so far. The film is expected to be released in November 2016

Trolls is being directed by Shrek Forever After director Mike Mitchell. Mitchell says in the announcement, "Anna has proven herself to be a brilliant actress with an amazing singing voice. She'll inject Poppy with the exact mix of spirit, sass and song that will no doubt give a whole new life to the iconic Troll dolls."

Anna is very busy making several films per year. She is currently filming Pitch Perfect 2. Anna's "Cups" hit from the first Pitch Perfect film become a hit and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. This role and the success of "Cups" likely held her land the role as Princess Poppy. Some of her 2014 films include The Voices, Life After Beath, Happy Christmas, The Last 5 Years and Into the Woods.
