American Sniper dominated the box office for the third straight weekend. The film made $31.8 million setting a box office record for Super Bowl weekend. It has now made nearly $250 million on its $58.8 million budget.

Black or White had a slightly better per theater average and made $6.4 million.
Black or White was followed by The Boy Next Door which made $6 million during its second weekend in theaters. Black or White was followed by The Wedding Ringer, The Imitation Game, Taken 3 and Strange Magic. The Loft opened in tenth place and fared worse than Project Almanac and Black or White. The Loft made just $2.9 million in 1,841 theaters for a weak per theater average of $1,564.
