Adam Driver and Stephen Colbert Announce the Mishawaka, Indiana Community Calendar
Posted on January 6, 2017
Adam Driver was a guest on Stephen Colbert's show to discuss his two new films: Paterson and Martin Scorcese's Silence. Adam hails from a little town in Indiana called Mishawaka. He agreed to join Stephen for a recreation of a public access network style broadcast in which they announce the local doings in Mishawaka, Indiana, Adam's hometown.
Using an NPR style, clutching their steaming mugs of coffee (or tea?) and making terrible puns, they shared actual upcoming events in the greater Mishawaka metroplex. Most of the events are fairly mundane -- such as the local lawyers answering legal questions for free at the library -- but some events raised the ire of local boy made good (or bad?) Adam.
Adam announces an inner-tubing event, but warns participants that they will not allow any sleds or toboggans. When he lights into Chad for his mysterious tobogganing indiscretions, it's absolutely hilarious. Adam is such a fantastic actor, he really commits even when he is doing a public access-style television show. As for Chad, we really hope he gets the message. Take a look:
