Andy Samberg and Kit Harington are Tennis Rivals in 7 Days in Hell Trailer

Posted on June 6, 2015

Andy Samberg and Kit Harington star in the HBO mockumentary 7 Days in Hell and it looks absolutely hilarious. When he's not playing Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, Kit found time to portray tennis whiz Charles Poole.

Poole is a genius on the court, but he's kind of a moron the rest of the time. Samberg plays a tennis champion named Aaron Williams, who retired early from tennis but decides to make a comeback. He's a notorious "bad boy" on the court -- sort of a Jimmy Connors with Andre Agassi's hair. The two play an epic match which lasts for seven exhausting days. Even the television commentators say "please, let this end!" in the trailer.

Real tennis stars such as Serena Williams, John McEnroe and Chris Evert give their opinions on the epic match which went down in history as the longest game of tennis every played. The supporting cast is excellent: Poole's stage managing mother is Mary Steenburgen, Lena Dunham plays a Jordache executive and Karen Gillan is a supermodel. And what would a tennis documentary be without tennis historians? We have Fred Armisen and Will Forte (in a hilarious pink, tennis racket print blazer) to give us the benefit of their knowledge of the game.

The sight gags are many. Williams sports an array of accessories on the court: his neon sweat bands, black eye and variety of beads and necklaces make a bold fashion statement. And his cut-off white shorts -- now that's a first for center court. Tennis fans will recognize all the little details they wove into the film and it's just a scream. The film was directed by SNL and Funny or Die alum Jake Szymanski. The script was written by Murray Miller (Girls).

The film will be available on HBO on July 11th. Take a look:
