12 Years a Slave won Best Motion Picture, Drama at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. The film was also nominated in several other categories. Director Steve McQueen accepted the award.
McQueen thanked his wife for finding the book. He thanked Michael Fassbender for an amazing performance. He also thanked Lupita Nyong'o, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Sarah Paulson. McQueen also thanked producer Brad Pitt saying, "without you this picture never would have been made." Take a look:
